Individual Achievement edit

@Lugnuts: "individudal [sic] fastest centuries are trivial, as is third/fifth fastest. if it was THE fastest, then include"

I agree that third/fifth fastest isn't important, but I think fastest century in a format is generally significant and reported on a lot.

Request we simply add a note the first century this series was Smith's fastest ODI Century. DiamondIIIXX (talk) 10:37, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Smith's century was his fastest, not the fastest for Australia. If it was the latter, then we'd include it. Every batsman can make a quicker century in his next match, but that wouldn't be worth noting. For example, lets say Moises Henriques scores his fastest century in the first match, and then in the third match he scores another century, but in one ball fewer. That would then be his fastest. Worth noting? No. Same with bowling figures. X bowler could take 5/50, and then 5/49, then 5/45, etc, etc. The century by Smith could be mentioned in his article instead. Player of the series edit

Who is the ODI man of the series? Natarajan or Pandya? Churot (talk) 15:50, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Neither - it was Steve Smith. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:54, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Oops, sorry! I meant T20I series. Sometimes ago it was written Natarajan and now it's written Pandya? Churot (talk) 16:20, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's Pandya, per the scorecard and various match reports. An anon. IP keeps changing it to the wrong name. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:14, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stat edit

"This was India's first win away from home when fielding first since August 2010." Is the fact really needed to note? I don't think it is. Churot (talk) 04:26, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just seen this talkpage comment, after reveting your earlier change. I see the original stat was added by a serial trivia-adder. I don't think it's worth nothing either. I'll remove it. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:10, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yup, some of them think that everything is worth noting. Thanks, Churot (talk) 15:06, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Day Prose edit

@Ankurc.17: I can see you've put in a lot of effort into the Day Two/Three/Four prose, and I appreciate the attempt. However, it has a few problems. Each Day is repeated in the opening sentence, and this reads poorly. There's a bit of excess detail "...Ravindra Jadeja, playing after suffering concussion during the first T20I in the tour then combined with Rahane..." could be shortened to "...Jadeja combined with Rahane...". Also there's some violations of Wikipedia:NPOV with "Rahane scoring a well deserved century". And obviously the spelling mistakes. I could go on, but I'll stop.

I'd prefer each day to have some more context, with slightly more general detail describing the state of the game at breaks for example. I will go through each day and improve it, I hope you don't mind. DiamondIIIXX (talk) 10:55, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead. I just saw it as incomplete so thought of completing it. Ankurc.17 (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

4th Test edit

@Lugnuts: Would you mind doing the prose for this test thanks DiamondIIIXX (talk) 10:51, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a look at it. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:53, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 23 January 2021 edit

India's Test series win is argubably one of their greatest acheivements away from home, especially in light on the numerous injuries including; Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Hanuma Vihari, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumra. The win was so popular within the cricket world, event arch rivals Pakistani fans celebrated. [1] Locobbb (talk) 14:53, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's not sure you want changing/adding. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:43, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Over rate penality edit

The over-rate offence was committed during the 1st ODI, although initially without the one-point penalty.[1] The point deduction is now added to the ESPNcricinfo scorecard.[2] The source for the point deduction being for the 3rd ODI doesn't note any official ICC statement, just that the points table update happened to occur around the time of the 3rd ODI. It also notes the offence was in the 1st ODI. SocietyBox (talk) 00:03, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for looking into this. I've added the source per the ICC media release that the deduction is for the 1st ODI. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:48, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
