Newfound popularity
editIs anyone aware of why several Wikipedia pages about "index", including this one, are suddenly at the top of the trending articles with several million views? SrAlfredos (talk) 17:17, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yes!! I checked multiple other websites to see where else something could be trending for some context, but nothing. Bettysumthin (talk) 02:43, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- My assumption is that it may have something to do with bot activity, in much the same way “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” and variations of “XXX” have been known to trend in the past (the talk page for that film has more discussion on this topic). But I have no definitive proof to that effect. Msmfs (talk) 15:18, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- Funny you mention that, the “XXX” thing is trending on wikipedia right now, right under this page (at #2) Clayel (talk) 15:38, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- I’ve also noticed this weird behavior. Might have something to do with how the data is retrieved, but I wouldn’t know. TheXug (talk) 00:53, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- Looking into it! Seddon (WMF) (talk) 17:14, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, this is so weird. It has been trending for so long. It's on #2 on today, 26 Jan. ChesterChow (talk) 09:05, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
