Talk:Indesit Company

Latest comment: 11 months ago by Eliez148 in topic Hotpoint didn't buy Indesit

This article is obviously not about Indesit edit

Today the article reads:

In 1985, Merloni Elettrodomestici acquired Indesit, its great rival on the Italian market but also having a certain international presence.

So this is about the company who aquired Indesit. This is about Merloni - different company. 92.81.19.197 (talk) 13:03, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its some times tricks to untangle a web of companies. Sometimes if two similar size companies merge maybe both there histories should be included. This avoid have to split information over several pages. Jonpatterns (talk) 16:27, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
This is about the company which is called Indesit today. That it took its name from one of its acquisitions and used to be called Merloni Capital is unknown to most first-time readers of the article, so I'm OK with that. --Stizzleswick (talk) 03:41, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Looks like Indesit's origin was Turin. The article needs a section to properly set out the history of the name versus its use by Merloni from 2005. But adequately sourced information seems to be somewhat scarce on this matter and tied up in a web of back and forth acquisition and globalization that includes Hotpoint, Ariston and Whirlpool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.78.30.49 (talk) 17:13, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

"In 1990...." edit

"Merloni capital entered Marcegaglia, its supplier of steel tubes, which detected 7% of the shares."

This sentence does not make any sense to me; I cannot figure out what it is actually meant to say. Could somebody with a command of Italian please check the Italian article and fix this? (or somebody knowing the relevant facts)? --Stizzleswick (talk) 03:36, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hotpoint didn't buy Indesit edit

Hotpoint didn't buy Indesit, it was the opposite that happened cause as you can see there's nothing Hotpoint like about Indesit while it's the opposite Eliez148 (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
