Seems that there might be some info in Steamboats of the Willamette River, Rail transport in Oregon, and Oregon breweries that might intersect with this article…what was the city's role in the history of transportation and/or beer brewing in the area? -Pete (talk) 23:00, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Great questions! I am overwhelmed by the possibilities! I have the book Willamette Landings out from the library right now, and though it is about "River Ghosts"--and despite its decline I don't think Indy qualifies--I bet there is some info in there. The Valley and Siletz Railroad probably needs to be mentioned as well. But then we start to have the problem of the overlap between the city and the historic district, because (forgive me locals if I've got this wrong) the city pretty much is the historic district, or at least half of it anyway, so their history topics are pretty intertwined.
