Fair use rationale for Image:InconstantMoon(Niven).jpg
editImage:InconstantMoon(Niven).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Spoilers?
editMost of the synopses are very vague, the obvious reason being that the writer does not want to give away the surprise endings. Can't they write "SPOILER" on top and then explain what the stories are really about?
The summary for "Death by Ecstasy" should note that the the story was reprinted in "Tales of Gil the Arm", which in turn was expanded into "Crashlander". It is part of the Known Space series having to do with "the organ banks crisis". CharlesTheBold (talk) 03:30, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes we should include actual story detail, not vague teasers. But no, we should not use a "Spoilers" tag, this is an encyclopedia not a review site. People come here looking for details, not to work out whether they should read the story. (Plot summaries have always been contentious on Wikipedia. They smell too much like original research, but how can an article be encyclopedic without them. Consensus over the years seems to be to provide a straight factual synopsis, whereas teaser language is seen as "unencyclopedic".) -- PaulxSA (talk) 19:14, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
One Face: No means of going elsewhere?
editAlthough Hogan's Goat no longer has a functioning FTL drive ("Jumper"), it is well able to reach relativistic speeds with its remaining drive, hence could reach other star systems within the lifespan of the passengers. Strac Astrophysics's objection is that all other stars and planets within reach will be equally senescent and useless, so he might as well think big and try to re-spin the Earth. It's amusing that the objection is not that the drive isn't up to it, but that the Earth might not take the strain. :D Captain Pedant (talk) 20:35, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Inconstant Moon. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
