Talk:Immunoglobulin Y

"IgY" was redirecting to "Imunnoglobulin G". This should be a page devoted to Immunoglobulin Y, which is not identical do IgG. Still there is problem with redirecting from IgY to Immunoglobulim G page which I can´t solve, thanks for help Alash (talk) 18:49, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

IgY can be set to redirect here when this article is established. At the moment it is up for deletion as the entire content was copied from somewhere else. --Pontificalibus (talk) 18:56, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
OK I changed the redirect now. It would be great if you could expand the article now that the copyright violation is removed.--Pontificalibus (talk) 18:59, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Translation from German to English edit

IgY is the major antibody of chicken, whick are regarded as a biological reactor.

I have just finished translating the corresponding article from German Wikipedia, so that it may be used to extend this stub. However, I'm not quite clear on the procedure for posting the translation. From what I understand, the translation must be reviewed for copyright compliance. Should I post the translation here on the talk page, or incorporate it into the existing text of the article? Please advise. For the time being, the translation can be found in my User:Mfisher_ix/Sandbox. Mfisher ix (talk) 03:55, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hmm. I see that thing in the sidebar which says the "article contains a translation". That implies that I should drop the translation into the article. But there is existing text, so I guess the idea is I have to merge in the new content such that the result works together. Will do so later; must go to work now. I have merged in the translated text. Please note the following two issues: 1) The German article included a "Literature" section, as well as a "Specific References" section. Have a look at the Litarature and References section in the English article as it now stands, and you'll see what I mean. Something about this doesn't quite seem to fit the conventions for the English version Wikipedia. 2) The German article and the English stub article appeared to make contradictory statements about whether IgY alone was found in chicken egg yolks, or IgY together with other immunoglobulins. In my edits, I retained what the German article had said on this point (see the opening paragraph and the Characteristics section). Mfisher ix (talk) 02:34, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
