This paragraph needs references. Specifically, as a reader, I would like to know the basis for the claims of "increasingly discarded" and "proved false". Who "criticized and blamed"? The article reads to me like an opinion from a lecture circuit, but there a slideshow would always refer to other sources.

"Since the 1970s, however, these assumptions have been increasingly discarded in the sociology of race relations. The predictions of the model that the immigrant's children would gradually assimilate and, thus, that racism and racial inequality would cease proved false. The model was criticized and blamed of reflecting and, even, reinforcing the racist assumptions..."
