Orphaned references in Iluka, New South Wales

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Iluka, New South Wales's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ABS":

  • From Yamba, New South Wales: Australian Bureau of Statistics (9 March 2006). "Yamba (Urban Centre/Locality)". 2001 Census QuickStats. Retrieved 2007-06-30.
  • From Maclean, New South Wales: Australian Bureau of Statistics (9 March 2006). "Maclean (Urban Centre/Locality)". 2001 Census QuickStats. Retrieved 2007-06-30.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 18:09, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

edit

This edit adds a named external link to a school. I changed it to a ref (a "lazy" ref I know, but a ref nonetheless), but this edit reverted me. (The IP that reverted has added similarly formatted entries to other articles, so the outcome of this discussion may apply to those articles.), I'd like some other editors' input about what the correct formatting should be. (Assume for the sake of this discussion that any ref was correctly formatted with {{cite web}}, rather than just a bare URL.)

My understanding of MOS:LINK#Position in article is the link should be formatted as a reference. What to others think? Mitch Ames (talk) 02:00, 1 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
