Crime Reduction? edit

Crime in Puerto Rico is higher than ever, this header should be taken out altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.65.87.2 (talk) 14:23, 26 September 2011 (UTC) We can merge my page Puerto Rican Drug War Bolillorocks (talk) 21:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC)bolillorocksReply

Lame article edit

This article is truly lame and only covers the "drug" facet of crime in Puerto Rico. A true article about crime in Puerto Rico would cover the history of crime from the post Columbian era on. It would cover other other aspects of crime besides "drugs", such as prostitution, hijackings, kidnapping, scamming gambling money from the casions etc. The article should be renamed "Drugs in Puerto Rico", instead of "Crime in Puerto Rico". Also, I have noticed that it is somewhat baised when it blames the drug situation as one caused by the Dominicans and Columbians, when we all know that the American Mafia, which is not mentioned, has it's hands on everything that is not legal. It is not only a Hispanic issue, it is one that without the blessings of the American Mafia would not be possible. Tony the Marine (talk) 23:13, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Not only that, but the article fails to mention famous Puerto Ricans alleged of being involved in trafficking, like Wes Solano, Negri, Chino Gafas, Angelo Millones.....Antonio Cara Dura Martin, 00:57, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Poor Quality edit

This article cobbles together random facts and events in a nonsensical way. I specially like the sentence 'By 2008 the tension was rising.'. Mexican drug war has little if anything to do with Puerto Rico and it would be hard to classify them as being in the same region. A simple way of find more about this topic is by watching 'Drugs, Inc. - Zombie Island' from National Geographic(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0mGQdgJDy4). Infact this 2012 bloomberg article paints a broader picture of current puertorrican drug war: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-28/puerto-rico-s-drug-crime-problem-needs-federal-government-attention-view.html Puerto Rico police crime stats: http://www.estadisticas.gobierno.pr/iepr/Estadisticas/InventariodeEstadisticas/tabid/186/ctl/view_detail/mid/775/report_id/00975852-e14a-4339-a6c8-ab23fd36d2a1/Default.aspx — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.45.237.121 (talk) 04:57, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree. There are made up facts. I believe this article was merged with another one? --24.139.238.71 (talk) 03:10, 17 June 2014 (UTC)WilliamReply
