I'm surprised the notability of this label is being questioned. Granted, this is a small, independent label -- but many small, independent labels have had disproportionate effects on the music industry at large, either helping to establish a new sound (Thrill Jockey, K Records) or signing artists that go on to become successful or influential (Barsuk (Death Cab for Cutie), K Records (Modest Mouse)). This particular label is pushing hard on some fundamental issues in the music world; sampling and fair use are extremely important matters in the music industry, and any label that takes them on, while signing on some successful artists in the process, ought to be taken seriously. I'm removing the notice. Solemnavalanche (talk) 20:32, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
