Life and career - 1970s and a solo career

edit

This section needs revision. Currently the 2nd paragraph starts "In 1973, she first took part in Luxembourg ... . This was also the first ever participation of Israel in the Song Contest" as if that's its name - which only appears in the 3rd paragraph in connection with the the 1984 contest.

About the song Balalaika it often appears that it was supposed to be Israel's 1984 Eurovision entry but according to its author Yoram Taharlev Shlomo Tzach commissioned it for Ilanit who was to sing it in the pre-Eurovison contest but after it was recorded Shlomo Tzach and Ilanit decided not to submit it but to record it as a regular song: http://www.taharlev.com/songs_selection_song.asp?id=41/, translated on <https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=iw&u=http://www.taharlev.com/songs_selection_song.asp%3Fid%3D41&prev=search/; http://www.mima.co.il/fact_page.php?song_id=1242, translated on https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=iw&u=http://www.mima.co.il/fact_page.php%3Fsong_id%3D1242&prev=search.
