Public Domain? edit
Does anyone know why this movie is in the public domain? It's not all that old, as movies go. I thought most modern major motion pictures were copyrighted for decades to come. --Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 14:33, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it has to do with it being a Japanese film...Here, the wikipedia page on public domain films makes a mention of it and links to this article. So Ikiru is in the public domain, but just barely! Hopelessshade 22:13, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Park edit
I've just finished watching the Kurosawa collection on Criterion, and was surprised that the park in Ikiru appears to be the same location as in Drunken Angel and Scandal (1950 film). I have searched the internet, but haven't been able to find any confirmation.
