Name edit

Was he also known as Sayyid Mohammed Idris or Sayyed Mohammed Idris ? --Rajah 23:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have not heard of any.--86.29.255.216 (talk) 21:36, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sayyid isn't a name, it's a title equals to Mr. or Sir in English, and it's common in Senussi family that "sayyid" or "sayyida" preceding their names, for men and women, old and and children.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.205.232.27 (talkcontribs) 10:04, 5 May 2009

Emir of Tripolitania? edit

What is the basis for the contention in the succession boxes that he was "Emir of Tripolitania" from 1922 to 1951? The text doesn't seem to support the idea of any connection to Tripolitania prior to 1951. john k (talk) 17:55, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Number edit

Why is he referred to as "Idris I"? There's no Idris II, and hence no need to specify which one is meant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.47.164.226 (talk) 15:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I also protest the use of the phrase "first king of Libya," since first implies a second, and thereby successors, and there were none. I prefer last king of Libya, since he was the last person with the title King of Libya, so this is more appropriate in English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.95.137.101 (talk) 21:14, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

United States intervening in Suez Crisis edit

"Idris maintained close ties with the United Kingdom and the United States, even after the former intervened against Egypt during the 1956 Suez Crisis.[citation needed]" USA never intervened in the Suez Crisis.

Child Trafficking & Child Marriage edit

I think the whole article should be made regarding this subject on Idris, or just few lines, it is well known fact that before 1969 aka Idris Rule, Libya was the portal of Child Trafficking, and Idris himself married underaged girls(read the book for knowing exact ages) by giving excuse of Qurans, Many sources back this fact.

If you think something apart of this all, Back up with the source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justicejayant (talkcontribs) 14:54, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Amazing. Just Amazing. Your managing to outdo yourself with unreliable sources here.
Dimensionbliss is a blog that is not even made by a journalist. What more the source starts out with
"I cannot verify whether this is true or not, but it's certainly a very interesting compilation of information regarding Qadhafi and Libya..."
Then you chose rumormillnews.com as a source. The name even gives it away as an unreliable source. Then when you click in to it, the headline is "NWO Pedophile trade". Just another conspiracy theory website. Sopher99 (talk) 14:58, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
It should be noted that with any other sources, mistakes are easy or easier to find, but when the things are itself sourced even inside the sources we are tend to use it as backup, I had asked for the sources which can prove these wrong, I don't think there would be really any. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justicejayant (talkcontribs) 15:13, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Both sources are dated to the first month of the Libyan war in 2011. No-one is going to write an article "why King Idriss did not have a child trafficking ring" if only the conspiracy theory nut cases on their blogs in 2011 accuse him. Sopher99 (talk) 15:19, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Its not about whether other sources can disprove your NWO blogs, its the fact that your NWO blogs are completely unreliable. Sopher99 (talk) 15:20, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not mine, Haha, And second thing that they are not reliable just because they are not highlighted by western news channel, These notes should be highlighted as it was one of the reason why Libyans were against Idris, I don't know why it's not added before but we could. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justicejayant (talkcontribs) 15:22, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
There are no reliable sources for any of this. Sopher99 (talk) 15:30, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Once again, it's your own opinion, and if something is there which can prove these sources to be wrong, we can work on them. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justicejayant (talkcontribs) 15:32, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Please read the policy on what a reliable source is. Rumor Mill News, as the name kind of imply, is most definitely not.--McSly (talk) 20:38, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Why you are going by the name? You should also look at the policy of the Rumor Mill News, take a look at it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justicejayant (talkcontribs) 00:59, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
