Lengthy, promotional, vague platform quote

edit

I've removed a long quote from the party's platform. It is poorly formatted (lacks quotations marks, random external link in section header), primary sourced, excessively long, promotional, and vague. It basically tells the reader nothing. If we want to include text about the party's stances, we should use secondary sources to give context, show noteworthiness, etc. See also Wikipedia:Avoid mission statements. new wiki contributor here: the chart for State Senators is far out of date, but i am not confident enough to straight up delete it.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. Lizard Person (talkcontribs) 19:08, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why is the lean "Right wing to Far right"

edit

A better one would be "Center-right to Right wing" WeaponizingArchitecture (talk) 02:32, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disagree the current chair is far right and their last lieutenant governor was far right. It is right wing to far right. Zman19964 (talk) 00:46, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
And what makes you say that? Because you "feel" that way? Unless the Idaho Republican Party's official position is that they are far-right, it shouldn't be included in the article as it's an unfair representation of the party in general. Norge17maii (talk) 21:12, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
You personally deleted an entire well-sourced section of the article that described how frequently they are described as having a far-right faction, with several elected members of the party being affiliated in an official capacity with unambiguously far-right organizations like the Oath Keepers and the John Birch Society whose Wikipedia pages contain that ideological marker. It’s disingenuous to pretend that this is a feelings-based addition to the article. Witchhouseki (talk) 23:10, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

COI & NPOV

edit

Why is the COI tag on this page? I see it is from 9/2018 and wondering if it still applicable. Thanks! Grahaml35 (talk) 18:55, 12 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Grahaml35 I am also unclear about why the COI tag is on this page and whether it's still applicable. It looks like @MarioGom added the tag ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=858826089&oldid=858548386). Perhaps Mario can help explain why he added it? Perhaps it has something to do with the previous history of edits to the page, many of which were contributed from this IP: 96.18.151.26: Special:Contributions/96.18.151.26 Vibrantmatter (talk) 10:17, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I added this because of prior edits by apparent COI accounts IDGOP2017 and NickGOP (and possibly previously blocked accounts). If you think the current content is fine in terms of NPOV, feel free to remove the tag. MarioGom (talk) 17:26, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Lol given those account names that makes total sense... Thank you for explaining. Vibrantmatter (talk) 17:30, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
