Ida's Maiden Name edit

Ida and Gorken (Górki) edit
Ida Siekmann was born in Gorken (Górki) in 1902. It is not known when she moved to Berlin. She died in 1961, in Berlin. When did most Germans leave Pomerania? When is it most likely that Ida Siekmann left Górki, and made the 500 km journey to Berlin? Ida's Profession edit
According to "The Berlin Wall", by Peter Galante (with Jack Miler), 1965, pages 79-80, Frau Siekmann was a nurse. Of all the numerous Internet and hardcopy articles I have seen, this is the only one I know of, that tells us what her profession was. Can anyone else substantiate this? And where might have she worked? Was she a Grenzgänger (cross-border commuter) prior to August 13, 1961, working on one side of the East-West Berlin border, and living on the other? The Lazarus Krankenhaus, where she would be pronounced dead, was the closest hospital to where she lived. Brewer Bob (talk) 17:08, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
