Expanding this entry edit

The Wik Thought Police swiftly (within hours) remove any corrections I attempt to make to Wikipedia on myself, Ivor Catt. I have a lot to say about Barron, but suspect that the Wikipedia Thought Police will swiftly remove what I say. I find that I have already written something about the Barron phenomenon at http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/barron.pdf . If that remains in Wik for a reasonable time, I will add lots of info on Barron at http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/barron.htm Maybe the Thought Police are less active about Barron than about Catt. - Ivor Catt, 25.9.2021 www/ivorcatt.co.uk ivorcatt@gmail.com

Iann Barron is an important part of the UK computing story, and it's clear to me that this entry in its present state does no justice to him or to history. I'm gathering information to make this entry more substantial, but having read the (many) Wikipedia guidelines I realise I'm going to need help from an experienced Wikipedia biographer.

For example, Iann Barron tells me in an email that he was 'born on the day Turing's paper "On the entsheidungsproblem . . ." was published.' I calculate this to be some time in January 1937, but I gather from the W. guidelines that I'll need published verification before I can include this information. I haven't been able to find any, and I don't know how this should be handled.

Are there any takers out there?

I now have better documentation and have amended and expanded the entry accordingly. The documentation has been supplied by Iann Barron himself, and comprises: a proposed Debrett's entry for 2012; a current Who's Who entry; as well as a couple of work CVs. I'm aware that some of this doesn't strictly fit the W. source data guidelines, but have added what I believe to be reliable information in good faith.

I wonder if Barron is one of the subjects. - Ivor Catt, ivorcatt.co.uk , ivorcatt@gmail.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.43.91 (talk) 13:38, 6 February 2020 (UTC) During the last ten years, nobody has enquired. Hello, I am also looking for references about Barron for a different reason. He was executive trustee of the Exploratory Hands-on Science Centre. I worked there and met with him many times. But I cannot find a single source - shame because he was a good guy to have on board and we did a virtual reality exhibition with some of his inventions way back in '93. He was way ahead of his game. Agree this page should be expanded too. By the way, you won't get comments from editors on talk pages of articles that are rarely visited - there is the help desk and the tea room or you can make a request for comment. Hope that helps.
