First Motown protest song?
editThis article states that “I should be proud”, released February 1970, was Motown’s first protest song. Some sources regard the Supremes’ “Love Child (song)”, released in September 1968, as a protest song, or a “sort-of protest” song. Such as: [1], and [2], and [3].
