Re: Notability
editThis article was included on Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/List of notable songs, for what it's worth. And apparently it was a Top Ten pop hit for a notable performer. InnocuousPseudonym 07:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I agree. The song is notable. - Holiday56 09:53, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm removing the notability tag. Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Songs is in flux right now, but virtually every proposed version of the guidelines makes allowance for high-charting songs. The tag was put in place before the infobox with chart information had been added; now that it's there the issue should be settled. InnocuousPseudonym 20:56, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: Failed Verification of Joel's changed lyrics
editThe article states:
- In live concerts, Joel would often jokingly create new lyrics for the chorus, such as "I go for ice cream", and "I got a new wife on the cover of Life."
It has two sources that I can't appear to load properly, which might be why the verification failed. However, there are recordings of Joel changing the lyrics to these phrases:
- "I don't know why I go for ice cream": Version of "I Go to Extremes" recorded at LA Memorial Sports Arena, April 1990, released on My Lives (2005), disc 3, track 2, 3:01-3:06 and 3:30-3:35
- "I got a new wife on the cover of Life": Version of "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" recorded in either Moscow or Leningrad, July or August 1987, released on A Matter of Trust: The Bridge to Russia (2014), track 6, 1:51-1:53
I would love to cite these versions of the songs in the article, as opposed to the sources used currently. How do I go about doing that? PDXPhotoGuy84 (talk) 22:00, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
