I do not agree that notability is described in the article. Is the song widely known because of use in some curriculum or government children's program? If so, that would make it notable, and it would be helpful to explain in the article. --chrylis (talk) 18:37, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I suggest taking the article to Articles for deletion. All an assertion of notability means is that it can't be speedily deleted under that criteron. It's probably not actually notable enough for an article. – Toon^(talk) 19:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I can't believe that anyone would claim that this song isn't notable - it's simply one of those songs that just about everybody in the English speaking world knows. Take it to AfD if you must, but if you do you'll soon realise that it's your ignorance that's the problem, not the song's notability is not a problem. Sorry if my last comment was a bit short - I was feeling rather grouchy yesterday and now withdraw the word "ignorance". I am still rather gobsmacked that anyone could consider this song unnotable, and this was demonstrated by the sources in the article. I have put a bit more information and some more sources in the article which I hope put notability beyond doubt. I'll admit to my own ignorance in this matter, as I had never heard of Delta Goodrem until I clicked on the link in this article today. Phil Bridger (talk) 08:54, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I grew up in the United States and have never heard this song (or heard of it). I'm still not sure that it qualifies as notable, but the chart listing is enough for me to give it the benefit of the doubt. I'm unwatching. --chrylis (talk) 16:32, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

It's ok Phil, happens to us all sometimes. Chrysalis, the song to which the article now refers is indeed notable, seeing as every British kid learns colours with it in their youth. I wasn't sure that the Delta Goodrem song was actually released... perhaps that's notable too, given that a charted hit passes WP:SONG... – Toon^(talk) 19:38, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Article on history of song with interviews of songwriter and singers

My name is John Berlau, and I wanted to bring to everyone's attention this article I wrote on the history of this song. Here is the link to my 2005 article in Doublethink, a magazine published by America's Future Foundation. https://americasfuture.org/asylum-song/

In the article, I interviewed songwriter Arthur Hamilton, as well as a member of the Dells on how the band came to record it in a song combination that would become a charted hit. I also talked to the daughter of the late singer Peggy Lee, the first singer to record the song in the movie Pete Kelly's Blues, on what the song meant to Ms. Lee.
