Article needs a refresh
Sadly I am not an expert on storage, so I am not the right person to make updates. But references to "SandForce" controllers and several other products/technologies indicates the article is outdated. SandForce controllers have not existed since 2012, and 6 years in the world of SSDs might as well be an eternity. Perhaps the article should be tagged with an "outdated" flag of some kind, to make the issue clear for visitors. SplatMan DK (talk) 14:14, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
The list with mechanical hard drive rotational speeds and sequential throughput is severely outdated, to the point that the information is just plain wrong. The highest sequential throughput is listed at 127.5 MB/s. I have ancient 2 TB drives at home who can hit 200 MB/s and most modern drives can hit around 250 MB/s. This make me doubt the validity of that entire table.
Furthermore, the long table of SSD showcases feels inconsistent. Normall SSDs are mentioned, but also complete fault-tollerant storage appliances that must consist of many SSDs. At this point, the whole article should be updated and restructured. Louwrentius (talk) 21:06, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
