To whom it may concern edit

This band is very popular and the article already exists in original language (Russian) with the same name: IC3peak I just translated the article from the Russian(literally) and added one link from the Guardian in order to have more English sources of info. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/dec/12/were-not-scared-bands-defy-russian-crackdown-on-political

If you need me to improve the article and to add some more English links, please, let me know. Meanwhile, I'm also working on getting the permission of the photographers and the band members in order to upload a few photos to the Wikimedia Commons.

If you permit this article in English, i will start working on other languages as well: Spanish, French, Polish, Hebrew

i wanted to add... edit

that senior vice-president of the presidential office Seregey Kiriyenko has spoken out for working with young artists. It needs to be included here.--85.212.113.221 (talk) 17:51, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Piad contributions? edit

Hi, GSS  Please, indicate how you came to conclusion that this article was done by paid editor which means how do you know that? It is a serious accusation and must be verified by a few editors. This band is very popular in Russian and internationally and doesn't need any paid contributors as far as I know. If you revert the paid contribution without proving it, I will have to complain to OTRS and double check your own contributions which seem biased and not very professional to me. 2601:1C0:CB01:2660:A8BE:F9AB:6F2B:A569 (talk) 03:25, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead and I'll be happy to provide evidence to support my claim. GSS💬 03:44, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Anon, you evidently don't know what OTRS is for. It is not for investigating claims of paid contributions. The volunteers who answer OTRS emails are regular Wikipedia editors who volunteered to answer OTRS emails, nothing more. Some OTRS volunteers are Wikipedia administrators, but most aren't.
An admin can react to evidence by blocking accounts and IP ranges in question. @GSS: if you want to email me privately I'm willing to look, but if there are possible multiple accounts involved it would be best to open a WP:SPI case. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:33, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Anachronist: as per some off-wiki evidence the paid editing occurred between Feb-April this year and looking at the history of this page there is indeed a possible case of socking. Please check your inbox. GSS💬 07:08, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
+I suspect this anon is the same person who was hired to edit this page and is evading their block. GSS💬 07:12, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@GSS: thank you, message received, you don't need to send me anything further in email; I am convinced by your explanation. You might want to provide a checkuser admin such as Bbb23 or Mz7 with additional evidence with account names involved.
In answer to the topic of this section, I agree the tag should stay for now. And in light of the numerous WP:SPA contributions I find in the history, I have semi-protected this article indefinitely. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:22, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

They have a new album out i think should be added to their discography. It is called До Свидания and was released 24 April 2020. It's title translates to goodbye. EdDan1 (talk) 14:51, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. JTP (talkcontribs) 00:48, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hey @GSS, I'm not trying to dispute the paid contribs claim but I am interested in beginning the process of cleaning this article up and removing any NPOV issues. Is there a specific section that contains errors / slant? I believe I've mostly narrowed it down to the History section thanks to looking at which account has contributed a majority of the article's content. I'm just failing to see the NPOV issue, not sure what I'm missing. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it. Philipnelson99 (talk) 02:24, 8 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Second this. I don't understand what is wrong either. Holidayruin (talk) 04:02, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is just a translation of the original Russian-language article. How come there's no paid contribution tag over the Russian translation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salinin (talkcontribs) 19:31, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Other language Wikis doen't have the same editorial standards as the English Wiki. Who knows, it may even be possible that COI or paid contributions are tolerated there. They are not tolerated here. Apparently the edits made from February to April 2020 are suspect. Furthermore, it appears that this "translation of the original Russian-language article" is your own translation, which included unacceptable puffery suggestive of paid editing. ~Anachronist (talk) 19:29, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@GSS: You mention above that the paid editing occurred between February and April 2020. this diff between March and May 2020 does not show anything indicative of a COI, and neither do the subsequent edits up to the point where I semi-protected the article. The version of the article before Salinin's translation was far more neutral in tone. Therefore, I am reverting back to that and removing the paid editing tag. ~Anachronist (talk) 19:42, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Change "radical views" to just "political views". There is no proof of the band having radical views. 212.19.47.25 (talk) 10:59, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
