Winner of Top Gear's worst car of the year in 2004 edit

Who is this person that continues put "Winner of Top Gear's worst car of the year in 2004" on the Accent page?

Please tell us where you're from(nationality) and why you think it deserves an entry there.

Top Gear is a British TV programme. So we could guess it's a British contributor. --Boivie 07:26, 11 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sigh...It seems as though every time Top Gear's Worst Car of the Year is added, some IP takes it off.Hondasaregood 02:43, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

kW horsepower rating edit

I removed the kW horsepower rating of the Accent because it is not used in N. America. If you want it to be included, please specify in which market or country the MC Accent with that specific kW rating is sold.

It's just a number... WP tends to standardise on metric units. Add translations into SAE or DIN (B)HP, PS, or whatever else you want alongside them, but deleting the data just because it's not relevant to one particular part of the world (which isn't even the car's home market, and may not be its largest one either) seems rather petty. 193.63.174.254 (talk) 09:34, 22 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Theta engine edit

Please do NOT put Theta engine in the engine option. Current Accent does NOT come with a Theta engine. Theta engine comes with three displacements: 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 liter. There's no such thing as 1.6L Theta engine.

Gas mileage edit

Anyone know the gas mileage and the size of the tank of the 2002 model? --Eridani 1919, 19 June 2006 (EST)

Hyundai Accident edit

Just reverted all mentions of 'Hyundai Accident' back to Hyundai Accent. Thank you for wasting 5 minutes of my life, random Top Gear watching vandal.

You know, you simply could have reverted the edit, requiring only around 10 seconds of your precious time. --Tim1988 talk 12:29, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Who wants to do things the easy way? ;)

Regarding awards section edit

First, about the Top Gear Worst Car of the Year award: I have a source from TV.com. As for the Canadian EnerRate award, Google currently has no hits fo "Canadian EnerRate award" other than sister sites of Wikipedia. Because of this, I'm going to assume it's a hoax.

Accent Forum edit

I'm pretty new to Wikipedia - I'm not even registered (yet) - but I thought it would be nice to include a link to the forums - http://www.hyundai-forums.com/f3-accent-forum.htm I don't know if its current Wikipedia practice to add links to the car forums, but I think it would be helpful (I originally came to the Wiki page to find the forum link). I would gladly change it myself - but I have no idea how to. Thanks!

There - I registered - I'll try to add the link. Lets see if I can sign the post Sexylenchik 19:01, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Top Gear edit

Why cant we put up the "Winner of Top Gear worst car of the year" on the page? Its an award the car has won, if it can have positive awards why cant we put up the negative ones?123.255.23.209 (talk) 04:13, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Confusion edit

Shouldn't this page only have pictures/info about 1995-1999 Accents, with a note at the top that says something like "For the article about the vehicle sold in North America as the Hyundai Accent, see Hyundai Verna." --173.72.23.229 (talk) 18:16, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

OBD details edit

With vehicle electronics featuring more and more, including information on dates of adoption of various OBD protocols seems noteworthy. 49.181.44.157 (talk) 07:29, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Gearbox info? edit

Don't suppose anyone knows anything about the transmissions used in these, particularly the automatics? My father is convinced his ~2007 model has some kind of trick 3sp pure slushbox + separate overdrive thing going on rather than a straight 4AT with lockup (so it has effectively upto 6 gears, depending on whether the O/D kicks in on 2nd and even 1st as well as just 3rd - the argument for this being what seem like occasional split-shifts when under sustained load at medium speed, e.g. hauling up a long hill at about 80-90km/h...), despite it being a FWD transaxle; if so, it might be a notable enough tidbit to include as a single sentence and/or link to either a wiki page or external source with more information, because I can't say I've heard of this being a thing before...

Other car pages often have the type of transmission listed as well as the engine, so it would be relevant to include if the information is available. 193.63.174.254 (talk) 09:41, 22 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

2nd Generation model appears to still be in production in Iran edit

The 2nd generation model appears on the website of Iranian carmaker RVMCO, a subsidiary of Kerman. It is apparently sold there as the Avante. However, it is unclear when Iranian production began or whether the website is up to date. Here is the link to the car's page, which is in Persian: http://rvmco.ir/%d8%a2%d9%88%d8%a7%d9%86%d8%aa%d9%87/ NNXST (talk) 13:00, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
