Hypnale nepa merger proposal closed

In June 2014 a merge tag was placed at Hypnale nepa proposing a merge of that article to this article Hypnale walli. However, the merge tag was not also placed at this article. The Hypnale walli article states "the taxonomic status of this species is unclear ... it may eventually be classified as a subspecies of H. nepa" but Hypnale nepa article says "it is now accepted that it is the same species and Hypnale walli is a synonym name.". Because it is not absolutely clear from the articles that these 2 species are the same, and because the merge tag has been missing from one of the articles, I am removing the merge tag. Any editor is free to propose a merge under the procedure WP:MERGE but I suggest it needs to be clearer that the species are now known to be the same. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:02, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
