Funny ref - billions edit

So, billions have been poured into hypecars since 1994. That must be why there are so many of them. I realise that the claim is supported by a reference, albeit not third party, but, since the statement is at best an incredible and self serving exaggeration, should we not get a good third party ref, at least? This page is an advert for a company that seems never to have achieved anything. a hypercar is a car costing over £300,000 with a top speed above 210mph, as described below. 86.180.130.125 (talk) 18:46, 4 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Amory Lovins is a real engineer, physicist or something or just a writer? Did he invented anything? He wrote thousands of books, and did a lot of talking. Where are the results? This HyperCart project seems to me that is dead now (2011) or I haven't seen any of this fantastic all green car; why the company changed the name in fiber something? Did they step out from car manufacturing competition? --81.118.90.5 (talk) 09:27, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Supercar", "exotic" edit

Well I didn't know about this project, I must say that the term "hypercar" is sometimes used to describe extreme high-end performance cars like the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron, kind of like the terms "supercar" or "exotic" except for it is simplied to only the fastest and most exclusive cars. Just wanted to mention that, maybe someone could change this article --99Ferrari (talk) 06:00, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well to be honest I can't say I much like the word hypercar in either sense. Still, if you can find a reliable source that refers to rich man's toys as hypercars I guess we can use that to deflate this article's pomposity. Greglocock (talk) 10:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Top Gear has referred to hypercars in the performance sense. But it's not easy to cite a television program. 94.194.66.92 (talk) 17:03, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, If I may point out, Ferrari themselves have used the term "Hypercar" in a design brief set out to design universities recently. If anyone takes issue with the term hereafter, take it up with one of the masters in Modena. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.105.11.201 (talk) 20:21, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

History Update ? edit

The Hypercar Inc. company which is the information source of much of the history section here now appears to also be history, along with the links. A (spinoff?) website called www.hypercars.com makes preposterous claims of up to 12,000 miles per gallon for ‘similar’ vehicles on their website.

Should the lead sentence of this Wiki article be modified to. . “The Hypercar WAS a design concept car . .” ? Delphwhite (talk) 16:39, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
