Talk:Hydroculture

Merging Hydroculture with passive hydroponics would not be correct. As (gardening) marketing is trying to name and rename methods of growing plants without soil, one of the main methods would be in my opinion hydroculture. This heading would not fit if it were connected with the word passive as many hydroculture systems employ electric water or air pumps to deliver nutrient solution to the top of the plants substrate/ media. The word Passive suggests a non mechanical wicking type system.Technogarden (talk) 01:32, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merging hydroculture with hydroponics

edit

This page offers no information that isn't better described and/or better cited in the article hydroponics. I recommend that this article be deleted / merged. The search term "Hydroculture" should just redirect to the article hydroponics.

I agree, the page seems to be a more basic and slimmed down version of the Hydroponics page, and the only technique mentioned bears similarity to the 'Passive sub-irrigation' section of the Hydroponics page. It may be a good starting candidate for a redesign of the 'Simple English' language version of the Hydroponics page, but other than that it serves no purpose, and should be merged.
