This is a good article. Some suggestions:

  • Avoid using peacock terms such as: "top-notch", "humongous" and "massive".
  • Consider using maps to illustrate major line routes.

There may be room for more information on aspects of the transmission system beyond the 735kV AC and 450kV HVDC transmission lines. But, in an article like this, I can understand the need to focus on the interesting stuff (and the lines are interesting).

765 or 735 kV?

edit

The article does not explain the meaning of the number 765. Is 765 kV a possible peak voltage with a 735 kV nominal one. Or is 765 - 735 = 30 kV the voltage drop along the 1000 km distance of the line? (Meaning that 765 kV is the - effective AC - voltage at the beginning of the line(s) i.e. on the production side of electrical energy.--Helium4 (talk) 09:23, 8 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

NERC map

edit

I think the map of the NERC regions does not belong on this article - or at least, does not belong at the top. It is very confusing to the to the new reader, because it is natural to assume that it shows a map of the article's topic - that is, the Quebec transmission system - which implies that the transmission system also covers New England (the dotted line is very hard to see on the dark blue background).

I think it's a case of too much, semi-related information being confusing rather than helpful. I would like to move it down to where NERC is first mentioned.

Any thoughts? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 11:44, 8 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've swapped it for a clearer map, but it's not perfect. I do think a map is called for here though. Pictures of electrical gear are pretty non specific to the topic.GliderMaven (talk) 14:30, 8 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
That is clearer, thanks, but I still think it will puzzle many readers - why is there a map of all of North America and a bunch of other regions when this article is only about Quebec? But making/getting good maps can be hard. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 17:59, 8 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Maine referendum on New England Clean Energy Connect

See 2021 Maine referendums - the info on the (now suspended due to the referendum) interconnection via Maine to New Hampshire might be useful. See [1], [2] Szmenderowiecki (talk) 23:39, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Churchill Falls Generating Station

edit

This station was, at least partially, be part of the Quebec interconnection as it delivers electric power through AC lines. I do not know where the synchronicity of the Quebec interconnection ends. Per W (talk) 15:16, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
