Notability

PamD, I believe this page is noteworthy and should not be redirected. This page is as noteworthy as most other schools that are considered noteworthy. If this page is considered to not be noteworthy we might as well scrutinize every school in the nation and see how noteworthy this school is compared to the other schools.

Notability, in Wikipedia terms, means that a topic "has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. " (WP:ORG). There is no indication that this school has been the subject of such coverage. There is a convention in Wikipedia that elementary and middle schools are not considered notable unless there is something exceptional about them (eg a major architectural award, a history going back centuries, etc). Schools which educate to school leaving age - high schools, secondary schools, etc - are generally accepted as being "notable". See WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. The school may well be an excellent school, but in terms of a worldwide encyclopedia it's just another middle school. The references all appear to be routine listings. There may well be other articles about non-notable schools: see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS and feel free to redirect them to their school district or local area. PamD 16:31, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

I believe that a unified information source, such as Wikipedia, should be a collaborative and informative environment where people can get information, or fix/add information on any important subject. If you are looking for historical information please see the school history at http://www.nlmusd.org/domain/1748 (I understand this is not a secondary source but is as good as any source you will find). As an old user with a new account, I came across this and have decided to support STJMLCC. It seems to me that this school is very notable compared to other middle schools. Please refrain from redirecting it. Wikipedia should be an environment with information of all kinds. I too agree with Viva_La_Resistonce and STJMLCC. This school is notable and is connected historically to la Mirada. Not only that, but it is overall a better school than other middle schools in the area and has a greater accedemic performance and higher achieving students.
