Confusion on the definition ?

The definition on this page is not the most common one. Most people in the literature call Hurwitz matrix a matrix whose eigenvalues have strictly negative real part (called stable Hurwitz matrix in this article).

Support In stability analysis and control theory Hurwitz matrix is indeed a matrix whose eigenvalues have strictly negative real part. Definition from the PlanetMath.--Krystofer (talk) 15:17, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Support Agreed, I was confused when I came to the article. I think the engineering Hurwitz matrix should be the main definition, with the other following, and both definitions should appear at the start of the article where the term is defined.
