removed external links edit

removed external links to other projects, whilst related we shouldn't really have promotional links on WP. readers can search or follow references for these details Kathodonnell (talk) 04:13, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

AliaK? edit

Could you confirm that AliaK of current ref [1] and [3] is Kath O'Donnell? See here, just above the references subsection. If so, then appropriate author name should be given rather than a pen-name/handle. In any case, if the source is a personal blog (self-published source) it may not be reliable.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:01, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

yes, that's correct. it can be removed if it's not allowed. I wasn't sure. but I'd written a couple of articles about him for my site during the year. there's a blog section on the site (mostly my travel posts/ramblings), but it's not in that part. the site gets archived by pandora/national library for Aus music listings and articles. sorry I should have left it off, but didn't find any others as a review & talking about his style of rapping and all the other heat4huntz were blogs. I'll keep looking for more Kathodonnell (talk) 06:15, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
if this helps, here's the pandora link http://pandora.nla.gov.au/tep/47520 (national library was interested in archiving Aus music related sites and one of the guys asked me about submitting my site a while back. they take snapshots now & then. it comes up in trove search results, mostly for early / mid 2000s info/artists) Kathodonnell (talk) 06:24, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
I believe its better for the source to be fully acknowledged, that way editors can judge whether any of the material is POV or not. I already saw that pandora have been archiving your Brisbane dance parties work for over three years now.
Currently I'll be working on more re-organising, formatting and neutral tone. Query: do you know what form of cancer he developed?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 11:25, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Found the cancer, Neuroendocrine tumor. I've put it in the Lead and main text with a ref.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 12:07, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
:::: ok, thanks. I'll make a note in future if I use them (will try not to). :) yes, he had neuroendocrine cancer, the pancreatic one. I checked the promo video for the doco (http://hunter.periscopepictures.com.au) and at ~1:30 he mentions neuroendocrine cancer. I also checked the liner notes for 'Fear and Loathing' album where he writes, In November 2009 I was diagnosed with cancer. Neuroendocrine tumours on the pancreas with metastasis to liver... I was devo'd of course as this is pretty much a death sentence. actually the promo doco (~0:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVNc8boFMXQ Hunter: The Documentary (short teaser)) also has a clip on Bias B talking about the Heat 4 Huntz fundraiser he & Len One organized - there's footage of the twitter, ebay and gig with Hunter being presented with the $11000 cheque that it raised - not sure if the video could be used as a reference? also at 0:32 there's a quote from Phrase saying, Hunter's like the forefather, the backbone of Aussie hip hop out here. Kathodonnell (talk) 12:18, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Aside from my ignorance of devo'd (which I've taken as being devastated?) I think the quote from the liner notes can be used in the main text and as a ref. Pancreatic cancer is nasty way to go and the metastases to the liver indicates the severity of the disease. The first video looks citable, the YouTube one is more problematic unless its an official release of the teaser.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:14, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

yes he means devastated for devo'd. and the youtube video is the official teaser - it's the same one as shown on the documentary site - if you click on it on the doco site it takes you to youtube, Uploaded by periscopepictures on Apr 15, 2011 (youtube username is the documentary makers company name. thanks for your help with the article Kathodonnell (talk) 00:10, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Hunter (rapper). Please take a moment to review my edit.
