I am not registering because I work for an agency that is supposed to be apolitical, but this is a strongly political page.

Overall, the page is well written and includes much of the important features. However, it is cast with an important bias that seems to place the violence, particularly the violence in the late 1990s, as a function of political whim rather than the reality of continuing war within the Rwanda borders and in the neighboring Congo. The combatants in these areas were the residua of the repeated Hutu-Tutsi conflicts, in this instance RPA fighting forces that were allied with the killing side in the 1994 Tutsi massacre who were and to an extent remain dedicated to overthrowing the post-genocide government. At least, this should be revised to reflect the late 1990s killings in the context of suppression of an active anti-government insurrection. The cited references DO balance that discussion, but this page selectively quotes these references to refer only to killings by the RPA

Perhaps most perversely, the hundreds or thousands of civilians killed in the 'post genocide' era are given many many pages of discussion, while the killing of 800,000 (a low estimate) is given 10 words. Even though the 1994 genocide has its own article, it should be recounted here to put into context the magnitude of that event, and the fact that the perpetrators of that event continued to impact Rwandan society through armed forces in DRC and northwestern Rwanda.
