Talk:Hull Ice Hogs

I see the article is up for deletion, mainly due to credibility? I understand your point, but the same could be made about the rest of the university ice hockey teams.

And several have been deleted before - including this one. To see the reasoning behind some other deletions see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nottingham Mavericks and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kent Knights. noq (talk) 13:35, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Again, I see your logic - although Nottingham are very well known (largest ice hockey in Europe). How can we stay on wikipedia? I've had a look at other teams' pages and to be frank, I'm a bit unsure about how we are breaking the rules. Would a stub similar to Warwick Panthers suffice?

You need to show notability. With independent WP:reliable sources. At the moment I am not seeing anything of significance. BTW, are you connected with the team? If so, please make sure you read WP:conflict of interest to make sure you are aware of those guidelines. noq (talk) 18:40, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

We are looking for such sources, but I'm curious to know why other teams exist purely as stubs and ours cannot? If you look at most of the BUIHA teams, there is a clear lack of primary sourcing amongst most teams. As for your question, no I have no involvement towards the club whatsoever - I'm a fan who goes to games.

WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS - lots of articles are created everyday, some that should not exist are picked up quickly, some can go unnoticed for years, often they get deleted after someone says why should X exist if our article should not. And another BTW, when you make a comment on a talk page like this, end it with ~~~~ to add a dated signature so everyone can see who made the comment. noq (talk) 23:56, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I see your point but it lacks logic. ~~~~ wawaw1090
