Misleading and confusing edit

Reading to page closely and having done some additional checking, it is clear that the history of the schools - or rather schools - is misleading, confusing, and factually inaccurate. At present it claims that the Hull Grammar School founded c. 1330 is now Hull Collegiate School, when in fact the timeline is:

c.1330 - Hull Grammar School founded
1988 - name changed to William Gee School for Boys

:2001 - name changed to Endeavour High School :2005 - closed

Overlapping with the above:

1989 - new private Hull Grammar School opened
2005 - merged with Hull High School and renamed Hull Collegiate College

It is blindingly obvious that far from the text claim that there has been, "much dispute about which school could lay claim to rightly by the continuation of Hull Grammar," the continual history of the original Hull Grammar School is perfectly clear, while the new Grammar School - now part of Hull Collegiate School - is and always has been an entirely separate organisation. Furthermore, for this page to claim a current active status for the original Grammar School, and for the HCC page to claim lineage from it - including former pupils - is grossly misleading.

I will therefore endeavor (pun very much intended) to unpick the two pages to properly differentiate between the two separate institutions. As a Marist old boy I have no loyalty to either, but I believe our old rivals at the original historic Grammar deserve to have their history properly told. I note that today an anonymous IP attempted to reinstate the fiction that the historic Hull Grammar School is now part of Hull Collegiate School. While it might suit some egos to think so, it is blindingly obvious that the William Gee School for Boys was the direct successor to the historic Hull Grammar School. For the 1989 private Hull Grammar School to be a continuation there would have to be a significant transfer of staff, pupils, and assets to it from the historic state school, which clearly did not happen. Nick has just clarified that he made a small error in the timeline he posted. The closure of Endeavour High School (or rather its conversion to Endeavour Learning and Skills Centre occurred in 2015 not 2005. I will also clarify that William Gee did not just change its name in 2001, but merged with Amy Johnson school. I cannot find much information about the latter institution.Robin S.
