Some Much Needed Work

Hello, I am working on adding on to this article. I have some sources on the history of hulcs as well as some well regarded examples of hulcs from medieval iconography. I plan to overhaul this article as there are no citations for anything written here and the information is limited.

I split this info out of the Hulk (ship) back in 2009, because it is completely unrelated. I never came back to clean it up because I could not find really good references. I was in a hurry and my main goal was to have a link target for "hulk" that was not to any of the other of those then listed as Hulk. As I recall, I reached the conclusion that the term "hulk" (or holk) actually refers to two entirely different ship types. As used in the low countries is was a type barge, but as used in England it was a large ocean-going ship, and neither was a derivative of the other. If my vague memories are correct, you should probably split this article again, and if you do, you will probably want to check each inbound link to see which of the two it should go to. I'm going to begin moving information out of my sandbox page into the main article. I've created sections on the ship's design, the history of use, and examples of the hulc in artwork and iconography.
