Place of birth
editWhere is this Niecisłowice? Is it a place at all? -- Zz 20:38, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- maybe its wrong; de and as well pl write Dederkały Wielkie as birthplace. de says its totday Welyki Dederkaly in ukraine ...Sicherlich Post 08:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed. Some sources seem to attribute his place of birth to N., but it seems that this is an incorrect simplification, and more reliable sources indicate he was born in WD., then his family moved to N. Sample source for his birth in DW: [1]. While this online ref has only a so-so reliability (local town's history of page), I am inclined to say they are right when they write "większość źródeł wskazuje na Dederkały Wielkie na Wołyniu" ("majority of sources point to D.W in Volhnynia"). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 05:48, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Republican or royal
editI'm not sure how the reader is supposed to interpret "advocated a pro-republican constitutional reform", while ... "in particular...advocated the strengthening of the king's position". Orczar (talk) 04:01, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- It is Jedruch who writes that HK reforms had "a republican spirit". Lerski notes his support for a stronger royal power. Perhaps we could change "in particular" to "in addition", or such, but the sources support the written assertions. (And is there indeed such a contradiction between a republic and royalty? Looking at republicanism, it all depends on how we define "republic(anism)", and we can define it in such a way that is compatible with hereditary (constitutional) monarchy; and I believe it is in that meaning that the word republican is used by Jedruch). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 04:23, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think both republican spirit and support for stronger royal power were true here, it just sounds like a contradiction. Republicanism could be a more abstract idea, while stronger royal power an achievable (and desirable) reform in this case.Orczar (talk) 04:36, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- Right. If you feel you can reword the article to make it sound better, by all means, please do so. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 04:45, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
