Birth Date

I've been researching the birth and death dates for Hugo Knudsen. I've found a copy of the 1940 census through Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/2442/m-t0627-00499-00841/129541215?backurl=https%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3fgst%3d-6&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnSearchResults) where it lists him as 43 years old in 1940, meaning he was born circa 1897. This is implausible considering he invented halftone lithography circa 1915. Sure, he could have been 18 at the time, however... Actually looking at the census taker's record from 1940, it appears that he was actually 63 years old at the time (the 6 was written in a way that it could have been interpreted as a 4, but looks more similar to the other sixes on the page). If this is the case, he was born circa 1877, which is more plausible.  X  S  G  15:30, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

In the 1930 census, he's listed as being 53 years old, so he was born circa 1877.  X  S  G  16:05, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
