Yes he did, he talks about it in his autobiographies, and then he "went straight" some time in the mid 1980s.--feline1 11:18, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Crime

Back in the 70's when I was a kid listening to The Stranglers, there was a rumour that Cornwell had spent some time in prison, a rumour whispered to me by a friend who had heard it from another friend. Was it any more then just a rumour? Astronaut (talk) 10:53, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Indeed he did do some 'time' for drug possession and wrote a book on the experience, see 'Inside Information' under Hugh Cornwell#Books. Perhaps it should be covered in the article, it can easily be referenced. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 11:21, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
