Sir Hugh Dacre Barrett-Lennard, 6th Baronet edit

I have recently edited this page and discovered it is due for deletion. Sir Hugh took part in the Campaign for NW Europe 1944-5 with 2nd Bn. Essex Regt. part of 56 Independent Infantry Brigade. This ws an interesting and unusual Brigade as the only Independent Infantry Brigade to take part in the Normandy Landings apart from Special Service, Paratroop or Commando units. It fought throughout to the end of the war without relief suffering high casualties. Father Hugh as a 2nd Lt. and later Captain played an important role within one of 56 IIB's Battalions and recieved a Mention in Dispatches. Just after the war he set up a school for soldiers due for demob in Berlin At the commemoration ceremonies for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day he played an important part in the Service at Bayeux Cathedral. Fr. Hugh later was Parish Priest with the London Oratory. I believe it is worth maintaining information on Fr. Hugh on this website.

Removal of delete tag edit

I believe the article now contains sufficient notable material that the delete tag is no longer appropriate, so I have removed it. Rjm at sleepers 17:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Another delete tag edit

"If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article or stand-alone list." Apart from anything else, an obituary in the Telegraph provides sufficient evidence of notability. I will therefore remove the tag. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 10:10, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

PS I believe he is covered in this book Amazon Rjm at sleepers (talk) 10:36, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
