Cleanup tags edit

Hi there,
We noticed the info block mentioning about cleanup in this article. We have checked the cleanup pages etc, but were unable to identify which items need cleanup.
Can you help advise please?
Thanking you in advance,
John --John Stroject (talk) 07:09, 4 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

@John Stroject: A lot of the article still needs to be re-written and cleaned up to be less promotional and more encyclopedic in tone. Being associated with the article's subject, it's easy to write promotionally, even if not intended. In particular, many claims are broad and unsubstantiated. Here are two examples of what I'm talking about, but this is not inclusive:
  • "eLTE offers the best-ever communications solution" - according to who? Best-ever on a global scale?
  • "Huawei Technologies is currently investing in huge Research and Development activities" - huge according to who? What does "huge" mean in this case?
As for copy editing, the article does need some styling to meet our Manual of Style, particularly for the more technical details.
Both the issues that will be best attended to from either experienced or editors that are uninvolved with the subject - I don't recommend removing the cleanup tags again until the article has been looked at by other editors. I may try to tackle some things in the meantime. Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 15:30, 4 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi there ~SuperHamster,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions. They are really very helpful and I will be doing some modifications soon.
Please do help out wherever you can.
Thanks in advance. --John Stroject (talk) 12:43, 6 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi ~SuperHamster,
As per your inputs, we have carried out the modifications suggested and also re-wrote some sections. Please vet and inform. Thanks. --John Stroject (talk) 14:06, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi John Stroject - thanks for the improvements. Definitely looks better, but still requires some work to meet concerns on POV and styling. Again, a lot of this will require the attention from editors either more experienced or unassociated with the subject. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:22, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi ~SuperHamster,
Thanks for getting back. As Huawei is the only company to have developed eLTE technology, we plan to rename this article from "Huawei 4G eLTE" to simply "4G eLTE". Will this be able to solve partly the advertisement tag?
About the experienced editors you mentioned, how can we get them to help vet the article for us? Can you guide on this please?--John Stroject (talk) 07:41, 29 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi John Stroject - Regarding the page move...maybe. Is eLTE a trademarked name that won't be seeing use by other companies? To me, the name seems rather generic, and specifying Huawei in the title seems appropriate, especially if other forms of eLTE may appear in the future. Regardless, a name change wouldn't do much in terms of solving the issues in the tags. The issue is more in regards to the tone and prose of the entire article.
As for finding editors: your best bet is to simply wait. Editing Wikipedia is largely a volunteer effort, and as a result, the article will be edited when a volunteer has the desire to edit and improve the article. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:50, 29 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi ~SuperHamster,
Ok, I think you are right about the technology title. We will keep Huawei as it is more appropriate.
We shall wait for the other editors to help in, while in the meantime we will also be doing some more improvements on our side. Thanks again. --John Stroject (talk) 08:37, 29 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
