Wait, what?! "Died of radiation sickness"?!

This paragraph... "He was able to interview and collect photographs from photographers who witnessed the blasts, some of whom died from radiation sickness" has only http://perfectporridge.com/ as it's source. I'm calling that into question because I have never heard of even one person getting acute radiation sickness from the US bomb tests.

I agree entirely. The doses received by those who witnessed the bombs were much smaller than popularly believed. It is (just) possible that the photographers received enough radiation to give them a small increase in cancer risk, but "died of radiation sickness"? No! Baska436 (talk) 00:28, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Have met a man who filmed the tests. He said that he had to watch one test without filming it because he was told that the first time they see it some photographers forgot to film because they had so much attention on seeing the test itself. He said that during the explosion he held his hand up and could see the bones inside. Randy Kryn 16:11, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
