Merge edit

There was another House Robot article, and both need revision, but this one seems to be the better of the two, so I suggest merging the other into this one Lenin & McCarthy 17:37, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

cold fusion edit

All right, some people say it's possible, but I find it hard to believe that a house robot is powered using it. --Nucleusboy 16:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

yes, i agree, the house bots are definetly NOT powered by cold fusion86.112.232.47 18:47, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Content copied from Talk:House Robots edit

There is an entire other article about the House Robots. I reccomend this should be merged into the other as that one already had separate categriesfor the different robots. They're both burdened by obvious POV, but that could easily be remedied. Lenin & McCarthy 17:30, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I totally agree, whether or not I have the authority to do so. The two pages are about the exact same thing, but provide very different information. Perfect setup for a merging! --—Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.128.132.30 (talkcontribs) 23:46, 23 April 2006

Pictures? edit

I think you should put some picture of each robot. - supmyman7 20:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was thinking the same thing. RememberMe? 23:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is very likely that all photographs are firmly copyright, three times over: to the BBC, who would probably have employed the photographer, to the BBC designers who designed the machines, and to the licence holders of the RW brand-name. -- 195.92.40.49 09:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
The designers of a machine have no copyright control over any photographs of said machine. If I take a picture of my car, Ford doesn't have any copyright interests at all. Similarly to 'license holders'. A video capture retains the copyright of the video it's from, yet a photograph taken by one of the audiance members is restricted only to the copyright of the photographer. Any restrictions on the photographer and restrictions on the taking of the pictures, are not copyright related, but are seperately dealt with by restriction of ownership of said pictures, from which copyright would then apply. Knowing the laws, and applying common sense helps a lot. 68.211.30.149 (talk) 19:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup edit

This article could use a bit of a cleanup. The writing style feels a little informal for an encylopedic article. Raya 85 14:42, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

A bit? I'm sorry but there are many things wrong with this article. The use of exclamation marks, the number of images, the whole paragraph on their fully ability seems like it's a post from a forum and the profiles are incosistently punctuated and poorly templated. 82.19.8.137

I went ahead and did a major cleanup of the article. I fixed various spelling and grammar errors and completely deleted the detailed fight explanations and "did we ever get to see their full abilities" speculation. If anyone liked those parts, sorry, but they were really not notable. Gurko 16:14, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

matilda edit

on one robot wars episode it said that matilda's weakness was that it was self controlled. should this be added in? if it should i will be happy to!86.112.232.47 18:45, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It would need a citation. And to be honest, I doubt it's true.

Well, on the House Robots DVD, Chris Bentley clearly states to the driver "You just keep driving Matilda into the arena and she always lost her shell until The Fifth Wars..." Some Guy (Izzy259) 14:54, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Official info? edit

The RW official website-now defunct-listed Killalot as weighing in at 500 kg-is this canon?--Xterra1 03:22, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is. It stated that in the also defunct UK Robot Wars Magazine. CBFan 18:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Liverdyne Robtoics team calculated its weight to be in the 430KG range during the 1999 event. Given that it was later enhanced for the 2000 season, and in 2001 had the option of a 100Kg steel balast girder to be applied to the back, to prevent tipping when picking up competitors, somewhere in the region of 640Kg is more accurate. Speaking of weights, the first four were also significantly heavier after 1997. by 2001-2002 most of them were nearly double their 97 weights, which are what are listed. 68.211.30.149 (talk) 19:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Cassius Chrome - Series 7.14.jpg edit

Image:Cassius Chrome - Series 7.14.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Chronological vs Alphabetical edit

I dont know if this is just me but I think it would be better if this was ordered by when they were introduced. It seems quite stupid to have the latest one which only lasted 1 series first.--90.242.197.113 (talk) 23:27, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Redirect edit

Considering this page has no references, and had been requesting a citation for over 3 years now, combined with the fact this is a cancelled show - meaning new information is unlikely to come forward, I plan to simply redirect it back to the main page for the show. Any objections? Please state your reasons why you think this page needs to remain in an encyclopedia, not just a generic objection. Freikorp (talk) 19:53, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
