"The film is the first 3D color film in history, and its premiere just two days after Columbia Pictures's Man in the Dark, the first 3-D movie ever produced and released by a major studio, sparked a 3D film craze that would run through the sixties."

This is inaccurate, and should have a cite anyways. Any claims to firsts should have cites. Bwana Devil predates it by several months.

Impact edit

Many people have reported their memories of the film to be extra vivid, as compared to other films of the same period. One theory holds that scary 3-D movies are saved in a special "experiencial memory", that is, where you store actual experiences, as opposed to artificial film experience ^{[citation needed]}.

Short story vs. three-act play? edit

This article states that the movie is "based on Charles Belden's three-act play, The Wax Works." However, the article about "Mystery of the Wax Museum," the previous movie to which this one is a remake, states that it was "(b)ased on an unpublished short story entitled "The Wax Works" by Charles Spencer Belden."
