This site has TWO of his children listed as " Jean-Bedel Bokassa Jr."-one was born in 1973,the other in 1985,while the Heir Aparnt's article states he wa s born in 1975.So,just to make sure its stated, should it ever become a problem.

Does anyone take Bokassa seriously as a monarch? Are his relatives today considered royalty? Do they consider themselves royalty? Radio Sharon (talk) 21:56, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

The answer to your question is yes, Yes and Yes, opinions based on the family in questions motives or character are not relevant to whether a person or house has or noble status.

A "House of xyz" would have to be for an established dynasty from one generation to the next. This was a unilateral declaration of a person, who was deposed not even three years after. All of this is already mentioned in the main bio article. Propose to merge. Gryffindor (talk) 09:57, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • I agree. If you want to merge the relevant parts into Bokassa's article (if not yet there) and delete the rest, that would be fine with me. Gawaon (talk) 17:58, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: No reason this should be a stand alone article, there is no notable source about just "House Bokassa" it's always in regards to Bokassa himself. Scu ba (talk) 18:20, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Monarchies are invented traditions and Bokassa's short reign does not make his royal house any less deserving of an article. As long as we have articles about other Houses this should remain an article per WP:NPOV. --Plumber (talk) 07:53, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
But I suppose we can agree that this one is more invented than most? Also, Wikipedia doesn't accept self-published sources and claims. If I (say) were to declare the House of Gawaon, nobody would give a damn, and rightly so. Rather, any claim needs to be backed up by reliable sources. Where are they in this case?
