The date for the reconstruction of the modern building on the Mudlavia site (1960) probably is incorrect. Sometime in the late 1920s is more likely. I believe the builders intended to continue a hotel operation there soon after the original wood-frame structure burned. The Pleasant Valley Rest Home was a late repurposing of the modern "fireproof" structure. See:
