Hi, can someone please add a redirect to this page from the phrase 'cafe royal', i.e. without the e-acute (é) - I think this is needed because this page is otherwise hard to find, since most people searching for a page on the Café Royal would search for 'cafe royal'. I've tried to figure out how to do this myself, but I haven't managed to figure it out in the time I have available and don't want to muck it up. I've had a reasonable scan of both Geograph and Flickr and this pic from the south was the only one I could find with a free licence - it's not great. I'm a bit surprised that such a landmark should be so poorly represented - could someone dig out their photos of a pre-2009 trip to London to see if they can do better? It's scary how you take things for granted and then suddenly they're not there any more - the site is a right mess at the moment, covered in scaffolding and hoardings. There is also the "N" symbol, which represents "Nicols" to remind visitors of the foundation and history behind the set-up of this place. But according to the concierge, the son-in-law of Nicols, who had the "N" symbol put in place, did so in commemoration of Napoleon. Indeed, every amateur of Napoleon will recognize the blason immediately. Nicols thought for a while that it was an homage to him and was not very happy when he understood what the "N" really stood for.

It's uncited, not very encyclopaedic, "Indeed, every amateur of Napoleon will recognize the blason immediately", and not very clear as to meaning. This(p=8) suggests there is something to it, but not sure how reliable a source it is. If it's to go back in, can it have a cite and be written more clearly. KJP1 (talk) 08:45, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
