Merge edit

I suggest merging this article to the article Deflection routing since they seem to deal with the same thing. --Bensin 12:30, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've demerged this article from deflection routing: they are not at all the same thing. -- The Anome (talk) 19:21, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
For the quite distinct use of the term "hot-potato" in packet-switching, see Deflection routing: see http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=Deflection+routing&hl=en&btnG=Search&as_sdt=1%2C5&as_sdtp=on for more details -- The Anome (talk) 11:17, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Help fix the article edit

I came across this in New Page Patrol, even though the article was created 20 years ago, it has no inline citations, nor much of anything for citations. It seems reliable, but it could really use subject matter experts to poke around and fix it up to current wiki standards. Oaktree b (talk) 19:12, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've added a couple of RFCs as references, and rewritten parts of the article body to cite sources: Special:Diff/1189368609 Special:Diff/1189495039 Special:Diff/1189632898. DefaultFree (talk) 01:52, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hot-potato and cold-potato routingHot-potato routing – There is no need to provide antonyms when specifying subjects. "Hot potato" is the idiom the subject is named after. This is nitpicking which contradicts the expectation that article titles be succinct rather than endlessly conciliatory.
