Making citations clickable edit

I would like to convert the current non-clickable citations to clickable ones. Would this be acceptable? Also, the easiest way to do this, which would keep the structure of the article closest to the present structure, would be to use list-defined references. These are also the easiest to locate when editing. Is that OK? --Stfg (talk) 10:31, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

No objections having been signalled, I've done it this evening. The list-defined references are alphabetised by ref name in the wikitext. The Schreiber et al action plan isn't cited in the article, so has been placed in a new "Further reading" section. The lioncrusher's domain link is also not cited and is dead, hence I have removed it. I've added MSW3 and status_ref links to the taxobox. The IUCN version is now 2011.1, which does not alter the VU status. --Stfg (talk) 22:04, 18 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Foreign names edit

The foreign names are not so important as those of places or people: why would they be of interest to English speakers? I don't think this is very commonly done, except where the foreign names are particularly relevant in English or to English-speakers. Such a long list shouldn't be in parentheses in front of the statement of what the subject is (MOS:LEAD) especially for articles not on places etc. —innotata 15:41, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Any reason to keep these still? (Or can I at least move them into a separate sentence or a footnote?) —innotata 15:14, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
