Anyone who would compare a horseshoe with SOS has never had either! -- Ron Hatcher, Springfield native and retired Army master sergeant

Variants

edit

Two variants exist that are not covered. The "Breakfast" Horseshoe which contains combinations including eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, and similar breakfast fare, and a Fried version which to my knowledge only exists at one restaurant. the recipe has to go

edit

The recipe violates Wikipedia policies. Specifically, it violates Wikipedia is not 8.4 — Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice (legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes. It might be suitable for Wikibooks, depending on the copyright status of the recipe at the source site. looks more like an ingrediants list than a recipe

edit

There are no instructions on how to cook this, so I wouldn't consider it a recipe.

put a hamburger on some wonder bread, lay some friench fries on top of it, melt some cheez whiz and you have what Springfield residents consider fine dining, the best Springfield can offer.

I agree, it was an ingredients list. And it is also mighty delicious. Vegetaman 17:36, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Isn't there a more appealing picture out there? The current image leaves a lot to be desired! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.153.75.150 (talk) 16:08, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hear, hear - it looks quite revolting! KJP1 (talk) 18:32, 14 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Local restaurants serving a horseshoe.

edit

It is a regional favorite, yet only one current restaurant is listed. As such, this seems to be more of an advertisement rather than an informational piece.

I would suggest removing references to any current restaurant, as it is unlikely that a current list could be created that would be comprehensive, and anything less would imply an endorsement.

This concern has been addressed. The "current restaurant" in question was removed (it was closed anyway). I agree that it would be difficult to maintain a list of restaurants serving this dish. - UnbelievableError (talk) 06:17, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
