@Invasive Spices: The ICTV has abolished the designation of any species as "type species" as part of the 2020 taxonomy release which was published recently. So for Hordeivirus, Barley stripe mosaic virus was stripped of its status as the type species but still remains in the genus as a species. Hordeivirus, like all other virus genera, now no longer has a type species. Velayinosu (talk) 21:15, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
