If the Zuni also make kachina dolls, should the name Hopi be in the title of this article? Aren't these dolls most commonly called simply "kachina dolls" without attributing them to a tribe? In addition, the existing title violates WP:MoS standards by unnecessarily capitalizing the second word and making the title plural. I think the title of this article should be changed to "Kachina doll". --ChetvornoTALK 08:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Go for it, the article even mentions Zuni dolls, so the current title is unecessarily specific. There are several doll articles, which I guess are old or just were overlooked, that don't conform to the naming MOS, particularly when it comes to capitalization and plural. There are very big differences between Hopi and Zuni kachina dolls. Different tribe, different language, different religion. Though the may seem very similar to many they each deserve their own separate pages. Not only are the beings different but so are the methods of carving, materials used and the timeline in the evolution of carving styles. Starbuck 88 (talk) 19:19, 22 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would like to propose that this article be changed to Hopi Kachina figures, sine the term "dolls" in English suggests a plaything, and tithu are educational tools not toys. -Uyvsdi (talk) 18:07, 19 January 2014 (UTC)UyvsdiReply
