Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Hopae. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Hopae Sool edit

Hopae Sool is a Korean martial art systematized by grandmaster Seoul Taekkyun master Do Ki-Hyun, and passed down to Czech Republic Taekwon Do master Martin Zámečník. In 2018, Hopae Sool (ČSHP) was also founded and regular trainings and seminars started, with the first seminar conducted in February Prague.

Hopae were identification tags carried by Koreans during the Joseon dynasty, recording the bearer's name, place of birth, status and residence. The tags consist of the person's name, birthdate, and where they were born. The hopae system helped the government in tax collection and retrieving runaway slaves.

The Hopae itself is a flared section of flat hardwood from 5 to 12 inches in length, with a hole in the narrow end through which runs a loop of thick cotton cord. The instrument serves as a short baton when gripped around the narrow end, and may be used for parrying, striking and thrusting; and it serves as a flail when the cord is looped around the thumb and hand, wherefore it is swung with great force, or used for wrapping techniques.

Various maneuvers similar to those in Nunchaku-do may be performed, and a trademark maneuver is transitioning the instrument back and forth from club grip to a flail grip by wrapping and unwrapping the cord around one's hand during swinging. Beef Potato (talk) 06:00, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
